Dekum Court

Supported by Metro’s Regional Affordable Housing Bond

Plans for 187 new affordable rental homes in NE Portland are underway! With funding from Metro’s Affordable Housing Bond, 147 new affordable homes will be added to the redevelopment of an existing 40 homes at Dekum Court. Construction will occur in two phases to ensure existing residents of Dekum Court will not need to be relocated. Phase 1 of construction (47 homes) began in April 2022 and will be completed approximately a year later. Phase 2 construction of the remaing homes will then begin and is scheduled to be ready for new residents by Fall 2024.

Highlights

Educational partnerships are under discussion to meet the needs of new families in the community, including a new Head Start facility.
In addition to the apartments, the development will feature a large community room and multiple outdoor play spaces for youth.
An active community engagment process, including a large Community Advisory Committee, is providing input into the physical design of the property, economic participation during construction, and on-going resident support programs.
